Every profession has their own set of supplies and equipment needed to complete their hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, and seasonal tasks. The selection of the appropriate equipment can appear simple and unscientific to the untrained eye. Think of this next time you’re watching a professional golf tournament on TV. A golfer’s caddy carries a bag with a large assortment of clubs. Does he select any club at random, or is there reasoning behind the final selection of a club?

You better believe there is a well thought out determination on which club to select. Variables such as the ball’s position on the course, the terrain of its location on the course, and distance from the hole play into the selection process.

The same can be said for a facility’s floor maintenance staff prior to the start of their work. Continue reading
